The PyrATES Fire Advanced Targeting and Evaluation System...     Designed for Logica, now CGI, in 1998…        Dear Victoria, Regarding the appalling dereliction of duty in the history and case of the Grenfell Tower tragedy, I thought that you might be interested in PyrATES…  Originally intended for analysing and guiding the design of large ships, it included an inventory of materials, their combustibility etc. and their locations, escape routes, crew locations, smoke detectors, sprinklers, thermal imagers, fire extinguishers, etc.  It could also, of course, be applied to the design and development of many other structures, and can be scaled from the simplest installation to the most advanced and sophisticated systems…        Note that it’s based upon work first carried out in the 1980s…       Yours with best wishes, James
